The 2008 College Football regular season is now complete and we are headed towards bowl season. Although we do not have a BCS playoff system, we are in store for some great
bowl games, none bigger than the BCS Championship between Oklahoma and Florida. There were some teams left out in undefeated Boise State and one loss Texas Tech. I will get to them later. Here is an early look at the BCS matchups.BCS Championship: #1 Oklahoma vs #2 Florida
The two best offenses in the nation and two of the better defenses as well set up for a fantastic championship matchup. As bad as the BCS is, they got the two best teams in the country in the title game. I understand Texas beat Oklahoma head-to-head, but that ended up in a three way tie canceling all that out. As muc
h as we hate it, style points are everything in college football. Oklahoma won big in every game down the stretch dominating some very good teams. The Sooners deserve to be here as do their opponents in the Florida Gators. Tim Tebow led the Gators over the undefeated Crimson Tide hurdling themselves into the championship. This will be a great matchup and I will have plenty more on it as we get closer.Other BCS matchups
Fiesta Bowl: #3 Texas vs #10 Ohio State
Sugar Bowl: #4 Alabama vs #6 Utah
Rose Bowl: #5 USC vs #8 Penn State
Orange Bowl: #12 Cincinnati vs #19 Virginia Tech
I would have loved to see Texas play Alabama, but I do find the Bama-Utah matchup intriguing. I expect Texas to have their way with the overrated Ohi! o State and USC to toss Joe Pa and PSU aside. As for Cinci-VT, neither should not be in BCS bowls, but it should be a good game.
Snubs

This is my favorite part, who got snubbed by the computers. The 12-0 Boise State Broncos were left out. Have we not forgotten Boise State won a BCS Bowl game two years ago stunning the Sooners? This team got screwed. You ask well who should be left out? That one is easy, Ohio State. Completely undeserving, I am sick of this love-aff! air with Ohio State. They will get destroyed by Texas. They ! stole a spot from the Broncos. Texas Tech has an argument as well, but Boise State should be in before them. I hate the BCS system, we need a playoff of some kind. The computers got the title game right this year, but there is still a lot of issues with the other bowls.
My BCS Playoff System
Here is how it should be, a 12 team playoff:
Top four teams have byes in #1 Oklahoma, #2 Florida, $3 Texas, and #4 Alabama.
That leaves first round matchups between #5 USC-#10 Ohio State, #8 Penn State-#9 Boise State, #12 Cincinnati-#7 Texas Tech, and #19 VT-#6 Utah.
The conference champions get automatic home games, while the rest of the matchups are determined by rankings.
All the teams who had a BCS beef get in and the top tier teams are rewarded with byes.
